Day 4

Another beautiful day in paradise. Dave went for a run, I read our local paper on line and drank coffee. Dave made breakfast,  eggs and pancakes, I cut up papaya. The pancakes here are so much better than home, Dave reports he is going to haul home a few bags of pancake mix!
Today,  knee be damned, we are going on an outing to the Botanical Gardens :) we walk to bus stop, long way for gimpy me.

I wear a brace that Chris our neighbor gave me to try. I get a lot of sympathy and praise from people we pass for even attempting to do this! As well as a couple of people who stop to compare knee braces :) We take the direct bus to the gardens. Of course after having to stop and ask where to catch it, we can’t remember theses things and it had been 3 years since  we last went.

Wow they just keep improving, it is absolutely beautiful at the gardens.  We have a lovely lunch of bacon shrimp pizza on the terrace overlooking the jungle.

After lunch  we explore close by sites then catch the bus back. Darn but it was standing room room only! After a few people got off several concerned passengers suggest I take the open seat. I thanked them all but honestly I can’t bend my leg so better off standing. It was a great arm work out hanging on over the curvy bumpy road. One passenger spotted whales breaching during the ride, added to the excitement on the bus :) I throw in the towel when we get off bus and taxi back to our place.
Seems there are still issues with our bed! Now they want to change out our mattress for a better one ? Actually it seems ours is s split king and a  new arrival required a twin bed set up. They do the swap and seems they have now located the correct bedspread! Denise told us they actually have these specially made for them!
We took a dip in the pool, had a glass of wine, relaxed and watched the sunset before walking to Cafe de Olla for dinner.

There is a line tonight and a couple of tourists crowd in behind us in front of some locals! We made sure the local couple were seated right after us ahead of the very rude couple!!! We had our usual enchiladas, margarita and beer and added a side of veggies.

Somehow a couple of the waiters always remember us and stop by to say hi! I see Joan from Spokane and visit briefly with her :) she was a teacher at our kids elementary school and spends her winters here, we run into her every year :) I want to grow up and be Joan!
We walk down to C&Cs on the waterfront and listen to some fun music before we call it a night and walk home.

It was a big day for a bum knee!
