John and Loree joined us for Dave’s birthday breakfast at Cafe de Olla, Dave has his usual 2 breakfasts.
We had to change rooms today, we move up to the 6th floor. After breakfast we went back to pack up our stuff for the staff to move when our new room is ready.
We taxi to my orthopedic doctor appointment. When we arrived receptionist said I didn’t have an appointment. She has us fill our new patient paper work then tells us our appointment was 11:30, we tell her Pam Thompson had told us 1:30 and we show her our email from Pam. Receptionist talks to some people then tells us to take a seat they will see us after doctor sees all his scheduled patients. We wait about 1 1/2 hours to be seen but are happy The are getting me in.
Doctor Hernandez speaks English, asks questions, examined both knees then looked at MRI results. He said I do not have an ACL and I do have several meniscus tears but he didn’t think that was my problem, he said at my age all that is fairly normal, and that I don’t need an ACL, who knew! He pointed out the arthritis and felt I had a lot of inflammation and fluid build up due to over use. He aspirated fluid from my knee and gave me s cortisone injection. My knee immediately could bend!!! He advised me to take it easy for the rest of the day. Total price for consultation and procedures about 140.00 USD.
We catch a taxi to meet John and Loree st the El Rio BBQ, Sylvie and the Zippers are playing. We have a great time celebrating Dave Birthday there! The owner gives Dave a shot. Another Birthday is being celebrated and they give us some peices of their cake :)
I even dance against doctors advice, well I kind of danced!
We taxi back, John and Loree have made presents for Dave! John drew an amazing picture of Scout, Loree wrote a cute story about Scout to accompany the picture! What talented friends we have!
No one is very hungry since we had some BBQ snacks at El Rio but we still want something. We head to the restaurants along the water and stop at C&Cs where we listen to music and share a couple entrees and call it a night. Dave said it has been a great Birthday, even though he spent many hours with me at the doctors, he is so happy that my knee is better, me too!
