Day 17

Today is very cloudy with a chance of rain this afternoon. Dave goes for a run and I take a walk down the Malecón.
A couple cute dogs from my walk.

We have noticed they have been adding mosaics to the Lázaro Cardinas Park auditorium. I see volunteers working on it this morning, a sign says it’s a 3 day volunteer event, I would have loved to do this! Darn just not here long enough!

We decide to take the bus to the marina for lunch. We eat at Victors, they have a new location at the marina, we have what we always do here, Shrimp tacos and French fries, we are creatures of habit! And of course their complimentary tequila shot :)

Even though it is cloudy and there were a couple sprinkles it is hot and humid so we go for a swim in our pool when we get back and visit with a couple from Sasqatchawan (sp) they tell us they were on a 2 year waiting list to get into here for the month of January, they had previously only been to PV on a day trip but decided they wanted to spend a month here, that’s brave! They are loving it here.
We made reservations for dinner tonight at Bravos, one of our new favorites, I have coconut shrimp, because I have only had them once this trip, Dave the braised beef short ribs, both were excellent! Food and service is top notch! I also enjoy a martini, wine here in PV is not great and you can only have so many margaritas!

We walk around the neighborhoods after dinner and just take in the local activity.

Day 16

We enjoy another breakfast on our balcony, we are really going to miss the variety of fresh fruit when we get home. Love the tiny bananas!

I want to go to Bucerías and enjoy the long quiet beach today. We catch the bus to Walmart where we change buses to go to Bucerías. It takes about an hour total to get there via bus and walking.

We walk a couple of miles on the long quiet beach and I tell Dave I would really love to spend a week here, I think 1 week in PV followed by 1 week here would be ideal :) There are no jet skis, no fly boards, no para sails, very few beach vendors and very few people, much needed break from busy PV. Might need to adjust that to a few more PV days to get in all the places we love to see and great restaurants we want to eat at though!

We have a toes in the sand lunch at Karen’s Place. It was a lovely spot and fine food.

We enjoy watching and talking to a Canadian family, 2 sisters of about 30 years of age, and their parents and 2 6 month old babies, the sisters had their babies 2 weeks apart and are both on their 1 year paid maternity leave so they came here to spend time with their parents!
Sign outside bathroom, the babies were very well behaved!

We walk the beach more and I swim in the warm calm water.... I really want to spend some time here!

We wonder through the trinket market and I buy some cute Christmas ornaments, money goes to support the school children. Then we catch the bus home.
We go to Cafe de Olla for dinner and walk down the Malecón to La Bogeta to listen to music, we aren’t really into the musicians tonight to call it a night and head home. We had just the best day :) and I keep reminding Dave how much I love Bucerías.....

Day 15

Today may be our last sunny day so after breakfast on our balcony, pancakes with fresh blueberries, we head to the beach with a couple towels to save a spot at Fendencios and tell Sergio we will be back in a couple of hours.
We take a long walk heading inland and along the river. We find a cute co-op art shop with a vegan vegetarian restaurant that is pay as you desire! Only open 3 days a week.

We buy some produce next to the local market.

Views along the river.

After a couple hours walk I decide we need to head to the beach. I spend a few hours reading, people watching, walking the beach and just enjoying the sun while Dave went for a massage then joined me back there for lunch.

We head back to our place and take a dip in the pool and visit with Steve from Chicago, he had been here every year that we have.

We decide to walk to Leys to get makings for dinner, we do take the bus back as I have put in a lot of miles and my knee is telling me so! We enjoy sunset from our balcony and grill burgers for dinner.

Fireworks as viewed from our balcony :)

Day 14

Dave and I just have coffee and fruit in our room then head to the farmers market planning to pick up a fresh baked good. We do in fact find a very yummy huge soft cinnamon roll :)

We pick up more coffee as well as a couple items some family members asked us to get for them.

We were surprised to bump into my nephew Kyle :)

Dave and I walked around a bit and mailed a get well card to the US, we were shocked that is was 5.00 US dollars to mail from here! We will see if the person actually gets it.

We see wedding pictures being taken by the church.

We meet up with John and Loree for lunch at Daquari Dicks. Then we all go back to our pool to hang out before they have to head to the airport. We have had a blast hanging out and having them experience PV with us!
We walk around the beach front and enjoy sunset.

Dave and I have dinner at Archie’s Wok because we were really wanting veggies! We order up a couple veggie heavy entrees. They were both so good :)
