We are back for a 6 1/2 week winter escape! We had an early morning flight out on SWA, so had to get up at 2:00 am. Flights all went as planned, we had been a little worried due to all the mess SWA has been in over the past week. I had purchased Business class for Dave, worked out great! He was number 2 and number 1 on our flights so got the 2 seat emergency exit row on both flights, a luxury on a full flight. Lots and lots of young families traveling to PV. Last year our flights were quiet, not this year. Airport was packed in PV. Got our luggage and joined the longggggg line to get through the baggage screening, got the green light so no extra screening for us! Headed directly to the taxi stand inside to purchase our taxi fare, we prefer to pay inside because they take credit card. Then joined a very slow line to get the taxi.
We were greeted with big hugs from Denise, our host, who filled us in on the progress of their upcoming listing of the Villa, it is not on the market yet, but probably will be soon. Denise said she will not be returning to Montreal after the sale and her sister and brother-in-law move back to Montreal, she loves it to much in PV. This year we are on the 8th floor, a bit bigger balcony and a little better view than floor 6, also like the layout a little better. We enjoyed a great show from whales playing in the bay.
We decided too head out to dinner before unpacking to beat the crowds, it is very busy here. We had dinner at a table on the beach at Langastinos, love having a toes in the sand dinner our first night. Funny we ordered guacamole and chips, the waiter said we don't have any guacamole, really? Then he returned and said yes they could make guacamole but don't have chips, but do have hard tortilla shells, we said that would be just fine. We enjoyed our guac, margarita for me, beer for Dave, he has a few sips of my margarita, he loves it to accompany his beer, then ordered fajitas to share, actually tried to order coconut shrimp, but they were out! obviously they have been busy!
We walked around after dinner, down the malecon a little way but was much to busy so headed inland then headed back to our place to unpack and go to bed, only to be awoken a few minutes later by an amazing fireworks show right in from of us. It has been a long day, but we are so happy to be back!
