First Full Day

Woke up, jumped out of bed, started a pot of coffee, opened the balcony doors and took in the glorious sound of the crashing ocean waves. The waves are so loud in the morning when everything is quiet here, I just love the early mornings. I watched a cruise ship come into the bay, followed by a second ship.

After coffee and a banana we headed out for a walk. I actually put up our morning walk pictures of the Christmas decorations on the Malecon on yesterdays post, guess I got confused after writing 2 days later! Anyway we noticed they have taken down most of the usual decorations on the Malecon, seems kind of early. We passed an area on the street where they had lots and lots of very large decorations waiting to be transported to wherever  they are stored. It is much quieter out this morning than it was last night. We walked to the end of the Malecon taking in the usual morning sights, yoga on the beach, yoga on the grassy area by the island, dog walkers, dog groups playing on the sand, the group of swimmers dragging the orange floats.

We make our way to El Dorado for breakfast getting our usual table on the sand. This has become our favorite breakfast place, great food and amazing view. Dave has his usual 2 egg breakfast, I have banana nut pancakes, delish! When we leave I make a reservation for a future beach day here. I know in a couple weeks that won't be possible, this place as well as La Palapa get filled up with daily standing reservations. But we are good with slumming it with our own beach chairs and umbrella!

We walked the 3.5 miles to La Comer to stock up on groceries going t through the Vesicle neighborhood. First stopping at Basilo for lunch, one of Daves favorite lunch spots. We were too late for their morning/brunch menu, think it stops at 1:00, we asked if we could order a side of their delicious fries, which we did and also split a very good pizza along with margaritas. Then we headed to La Comer. This store is probably the fanciest and a little more expensive than the other stores but we love it and all the great selections, you can get anything.  You get your cart on the lower level and take it up the magnetic walk way, so cool. We got an uber back to our place.

I spent what felt like forever properly cleaning all of our produce, soaking it all in microdyn using 2 bowls, because we don't have a really large one and having to do the soaking in shifts, trying to keep us healthy!

Tonights dinner was at Cafe Bohemio, we have not eaten here for years, as we were passing by we noticed open tables and knowing how busy it is here we thought it would be a good option and it was. Sol, the owner entertained with a few vocal numbers and then was joined by an amazing trumpeter, so much fun. If I recall correctly Sol spends summers in Palm Springs where he does some entertaining. Tonight they served lentil soup as a starter, they always serve soup to start, it was delicious, I would have been happy with just a huge bowl of it, next time I will ask what the soup of the day is.  Dave had chicken enchiladas, I had coconut shrimp, and we both had margaritas, they were on special "Monday Margarita Madness" 2 for 50 pesos, what a deal!

We did an evening walk about taking in the usual evening sites, then called it a day, we were tired after over 26,000 steps.

I will add pictures later......off for a morning walk now!
