Saturday- After our morning walk/runs, shower and quick breakfast we went to the Saturday Farmers Market at Lazaro Cardenas Park. It seems they have added a lot more food vendors, really amazing looking selections. We just purchased savory pot pies and bagels to put in our freezer but next week think we will pick up some Indian food or one of the other great looking options to take back. We had a fun Face time call with Jared and little June when we got back.
We made sandwiches and packed them up along with beverages and our beach chairs and enjoyed a day on the beach. The waves have been huge so limited beach space, but we found a great spot and enjoyed our time.
Our friends John and Loree arrived this afternoon. We met up with them for drinks at Margarita Grill, then toured the beautiful condo they are renting at Oceana, followed by yummy tacos at Los Molcajetes. It was our first time here and will not be our last. Why stand in the Ponchos Tacos line when there are equally good options!
Sunday- Again our usual morning exercise/breakfast routine. Then I headed to El Dorado where I had made beach club reservations for us, John, Loree, Kitty and Jim. Due to the high surf they said we could not access their beach until around noon, dang, here we are at 10:30. So we headed down the beach and decided La Carreta looked like a fine alternative, and to top it off Sergio, one of our favorite waiters from the no longer Fedencios next door is now working here! This may become our go to place! We had a great day hanging out with our friends.
That afternoon Dave and I took a walk up the river to see if the road to El Rio BBQ is repaired and open, it appears it is. While walking along the river we had a Face Time call from Cole and his family, Des really is interested and asked lots of questions about Mexico, he is counting down the weeks until they all come.
Monday- We met up with John and Loree to do the hike to the cross. Usually we take the back road up and the stairs down, but this year we somehow went the wrong way and took both the stairs up and down, which is what most people do, we just like weaving in and out of the neighborhood to get to the top, its a little more interesting. Have no idea how many steps there are, but it is a good work out to get to an amazing view.
Our reward after the hike was a lovely breakfast at El Dorado.
Dave and I did a walk later in the day and finished with fish tacos at Marismas, we just had 1 fish taco each because it was getting late for lunch an we were meeting John and Loree at Casa Isabel for dinner.
We had a beautiful dinner at Casa Isabel, Dave and I both had the Tofu veggie rice stir fry, John and Loree had a chicken dish and coconut shrimp. We chatted with Isabel on our way out, her staff of course took pictures which were posted on FB! Isabel is truly amazing.
We continue to have the most amazing weather, enjoying lots of whale activity seen from our balcony, love hearing the huge waves crashing in, can even hear them through our closed balcony doors. I assume the high water level and huge waves are due to the full moon, maybe it will start to recede and wave action lessen now....?
