Prague-Sept 29

I realize I messed up on the dates, oh well! What I get for not keeping up on the blog while we were there, but we were just too busy!

It was a Sunday and our plan was to have a low key day with no real plans for the day.  We thought we should take a cable car just so we could say we did, we found the line that was going the direction we wanted and waited. The cable car arrived and it was way too packed with people for our comfort so we skipped it and walked. In London if a subway was packed we would just wait a few minutes for the next one which was usually empty!

Since it was Sunday was passed several churches that had services just starting, we popped into a couple and listened to the beautiful music. Of course I didn't take pictures since services were going on.

We walked to the Dancing House also know as the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers building. It was designed by Vlad Milunic and Frank Gehry who also designed the Seattle Music Project.

Big fly sculpture at the entrance of the building!

We walked along a aboard walk along the river.

And ran into a fun market. I could not resist a dress, made by the sweet gal on left.  It was a bit interesting trying it one. She clipped up a kinda curtain and I had a lot of layers to get off, Im sure I was exposed quite a bit but I thought oh well, I don't know anyone!

We continued our walk making it up to Vysehrad Castle.

More amazing views from the Castle grounds. Prague is truly a beautiful city.

A little vineyard on the grounds.

A beautiful Cathedral on the grounds, we were there at noon and were treated to the bells.

We made our way down the hill and found a place for lunch, which happened to be amazing. Bread served in a cute little bag, I had a traditional dish, chicken schnitzel, Dave had a salad with chicken. We both loved our meals. We notice that most all restaurants really just have traditional food, whether for lunch or dinner and all which is very heavy.

We ran into a little botanical garden and checked it out.

Ran into what appeared to be a bachelor party group!

Found another unusual piece by David Cerny of King Wenceslas riding an upside down dead horse.

We came across an old convent.

We had dinner at Local, which neice Kylee recommended. We had some good traditional food and sat and visited with a couple of friendly women from Canada who invited us to sit with them.
Dave ordered several different items, I had the braised steak with dumplings.

On our walk home we stopped for a traditional pastry to share, Trdelnik.

We had a great day just exploring on our own and running into fun finds!
