Day 9

Today we got up and out to catch the bus to Boča de Tomatlan where we started our hike to Las Animas.  Note the second picture inside the bus, the divers personalize their bus, this one has Jesus on the cross, most are decorated with religious symbols, possibly due to the driving around here! Sylvie told us every year they loose 3 or 4 tourists a year due to being hit by a bus or car, have heard the saying for years to watch out for the Rambo Buses!  No kidding!
The hike was beautiful, we did it once before years ago, it is strenuous but seemed better this year, there had been some improvements to the trail over the years I think due to the addition of the highly popular Ocean Grill at the half way point of the hike.  We took a cool down swim at the beach there and talked to two other groups who were also hiking all the way to Las Aminas, this hike seems to be getting more popular.  According to Daves's GPS it was 3 miles, now that is 3 miles of up, down, rocks, roots, and stairs, in 94 percent humidity, worked up a sweat that is for sure :)
Had a lovely lunch of shrimp quesadilla's, beer for Dave, coca cola light for me.  Enjoyed a quick swim and watching the cute young kids holding the huge iguana.  Took a water taxi back to Boča to catch the bus back home.  Price of bus to Boča is 8 peso's a person, water taxi was 30 peso's a person, what a bargin!  Our do it yourself adventures are very inexpensive!
Had dinner at El Patio de Mi Casa, wood fired pizza, we usually love this place, but tonight it was very busy due to the Cupocity coupons ( we were using them too) service almost non existent and cold pizza. Oh well we got what we payed for I guess!!!
