Day 20

I only have one week left! The last 3 weeks went fast!  We headed down to Fedencios early (10:00) to get a spot on the beach, hoping for a front row, no luck already taken, had to settle for the second row, life is tough!!  We stayed at least four hours enjoying the beach, Mom , Debbie and Laura walk along the beach and out to the pier, something that mom was wanting to do while here :)
The surf was a bit rough today but Debbie and I decided to give it a go and swim!  I was knocked down and under, sand in hair and all! No big deal, got some laughs out of it! Learned you can't walk in, just got to swim in fast!!!
We decided to stay in and cook for dinner tonight and enjoy the sunset and balcony views.  Debbie and I headed out for the groceries. I, being the expert here,(ha ha) felt it would be fastest to hit the produce stand and then the Carne Mart. Over 2 hours later we returned with the supplies!  I was worried mom would be calling the hospitals soon! At the produce stand Debbie comments "how do you know where everything is?" She wasn't saying that by the time we got home! I could not find the Carne Mart, no one we asked knew, we wander more, asked more, finally find it but nothing there that appeals to us.  Off to Los Mercados, an upscale market with American cuts of beef. We had seen it along the way now we can't find it, everyone I ask points us to the flea market, we don't want the flea market we want streak!!!! Finally a very nice American man knows where it is!!! yeah!!!! 2 hours later, we return. On the upside we got our exercise and Debbie saw a lot of the back neighborhood :)
Should have just taken the bus to the store!

Day 19

Had my morning run, seemed a little cooler today:) then after breakfast at our place we caught a cab to the Zoo in Mismaloya.
The zoo has had a lot of improvement over the years and they continue to work on it. Best part of this zoo is feeding the animals! For about 4.00 you can buy a bag of food with instruction on what to feed the animals, what a hoot!
On our way home we stopped at La Playita for lunch with a view. Debbie made the walk back along the beach with me for some shell collecting and photo opportunities.
After some quiet time at the pool we headed to dinner, had a delish dinner at Margarta Grill, they made salsa for us right at the table. Debbie and Laura tried a new drink, Chi Chi, Laura said she would be getting another one soon!

After dinner we enjoyed a great jazz trio at Nacho Daddies, I thought the Zippers were playing, no, they play on Saturday, guess we will have to come back then for some dancing!!!!

Day 18

Debbie and I went for a morning walk along the malecon, always fun to watch the dogs enjoying life in PV!
Debbie's first day on the beach and it was a beautiful day! We had lunch, margaritas, visited, people watched, and did some walking along the beach.
Enjoyed a little time on our roof top pool and Debbie decided that the pool looking out over the edge wasn't that scary!
Laura arrived this afternoon!  We had a yummy dinner at Cafe de Olla, checked out an art gallery and visited the wine shop for supplies. Then went for an evening dip in the pool under the stars and watched the entertainment that was going on in the building next to ours, appeared to be an auction maybe for advertisements in a local paper and variety show of singers and mariachi bands.

Day 17

Dave heads home this afternoon:(
He thought breakfast on the beach followed by one last walk around town was how he wanted to spend his time.
We enjoyed watching the dogs play on the beach and watched a cruise ship heading in to port.
Mosaic wall.
Kids at school.
Painting class going on.
The iguana bridge into gringo gulch.
Our new debit cards finally arrive just minutes before Dave leaves!  Odd that the outside envelope is sealed but the inside envelope containing the new debit card had been opened, on both packages...hummmm
Good bye Dave :(
I spent the afternoon at the pool and bleaching my white skirt again! I managed to get the red out of it from the laundry fiasco but now has some rust spots from the chair I hung it over to dry:(
May be a lost cause.
Hello mom and Debbie! First night calls for margaritas on the beach!

Day 16

Today is Dave's last full day :( I will miss my favorite travel buddy:( but so excited for my mom, sister and sister-in-law to arrive! We went for a morning run, I did a load of laundry and did something I always tell my husband and sons not to do, wash a red item with whites!!! Big misteak!!! Since I need quarters the the wash and I only had enough for 1 load and I have washed the red item before  so I thought it would be okay! Well no!!! a lot of bleach and soaking and I may have salvaged a couple of items.

We walked along the beach to La Playita for lunch.
This man brings in his catch every day around 1:00, the Pelicans wait for his hand outs, small fish and fish guts, they really seem to be good friends :) sometimes we have seen the pelican riding on hisk kayak.

Dave is feeling a bit sad about his last lunch :(
View on our walk back.
I headed out to buy some supplies and saw this cute little boy dancing on the top of a pickup, at least it was parked! He was having a blast!
Sunset on our way to dinner.
A traditional last night dinner for us (Dave) is Cafe Roma for bad pizza and fun kareoke!  It is a very lively joint and usually pretty good singing! Always fun!
On our way home heard some mariachi, it was a great day, Dave is sad to go but said it has been a perfectly wonderful 2 weeks!

Day 15

Started our Sunday with a morning walk, we headed up the hill for some nice views.
This man was cooking pork.
We had breakfast at Cafe de Olla, they make the best pancakes, and coffee with cinnamon.
Spent several hours at the beach. Sunday is family day here, for most locals it is their only day off. Many families spend the day at the beach then later in town and along the malecon where there is entertainment and food vendors set up.

We went to Casa Isabel for happy hour and to watch the start of the Oscars, they were really into it there this year and had an Oscar party, saw some lovely evening gowns! Several years ago while staying there we asked them to turn it on to the tvs in the bar, the bartenders seemed to have no idea what the Oscars were about!

We finished our night with a homemade dinner on our patio watching the Oscars :)
