Need to finish up before we head to PV so the rest of the trip report will be very brief.
Sydney Nova Scotia
There really was not much of interest close to cruise pier, we were not up to 2 hour each way bus rides to see sites. I found a nature walk to do. We had to walk through town about 2-3 miles to reach the start of the Braile Ard Nature Trail. We noticed 2 other couples probably from one of the 2 cruise ships who appeared to be doing the same. We passed through residential neighborhoods.
There are a weave of many trails here, it was a lovely peaceful time. We chatted with a local there who was walking her dogs, of course Dave has to pet one.
We walked back then walked long the waterfront before calling it a day.
Had dinner on the ship at a specialty restaurant, Pinnacle Grill, it was great!
Prince Edward Island
We docked in Charlotte Town. I had booked an Island tour that included Anne of Green Gables. It was a wonderful bus tour that took us across the Island, passing farms and small towns, the island is know for their potatoes. We arrived at Anne of Green Gables Historical site and walked around and toured the house, it is not the house she lived in but it belonged to cousins of her grandparents, who raised her, she spent a lot of time at this house and it is here that she got her inspiration for her stories. We walked the Haunted Wood trail, and did see the site where the house she lived in stood.
The bus stopped at a scenic spot
After our tour we wandered around the charming town, stopping for ice cream at the famous Cows Ice Cream shop. And of course Dave befriends yet another dog! We loved Prince Edward Island.
