St Lucia

After the usual breakfast on our balcony we headed off the ship with our friends to go kayaking, an excursion that Kitty found. Due to some bad reviews my expectations were not very high, but it turned out to be a very fun day and a quality experience. We were picked up st the cruise port and taken to the beautiful Marigot Bay where we then took the water taxi to cross the bay. We were outfitted with life vests and given our kayak for the day. We started out by going in the ocean along the shoreline then went up a river where we saw a variety of foliage and trees such as coconut, mango and almond went through mangroves and saw the little tree crabs. We returned back to the ship for a late lunch then headed off to explore the town. The area that was walking distance from the ship was very local. We saw lots of school children heading home in a variety of uniforms obviously from several different schools. We wandered through the local markets and took a few pictures until it became apparent that the locals do not like the tourist taking pictures May have also been the fact I took a picture of bootleg rum? Clear liquids in a variety of recycled bottles, who knows but we did not feel very welcome in this neighborhood so decided to head back to the ship. Most of the pictures I took today I used an underwater camera so I can't put them up until I download them to my computer so I have very few pictures today k. Tonight's show was a musician who impersonated famous musicians we thought it might be bad so we found an escape row seat thinking he would not be good, but he was and we stayed till the end!
