NYC/Caribbean Princess

Our last morning in NYC, we decided we needed to find the best bagel. On our way to the subway we passed by the NBC studios which is a block from our hotel, we just then realized they were probably shooting the show when a security guard at the studios told us the hosts would be coming outside in a minute and that we could go through security and be in the outside area when they come out. Of course we said sure! They came out and did a piece, after they were done they went around to the spectators and started hugging, shaking hands and getting pictures with them.  We were not going to be one of "those crazy fans" and get a picture with anyone so we stood back a bit but then Hoda and an assistant came up to us and insisted we hand them our phone!

We  then hopped on the subway and made our way to an area north of Central Park to a Kenji Lopez recommended bagel shop, Absolute Bagels. They were delicious, not sure if it was worth the trek, but it was fun to walk in more quiet neighborhood outside of the tourist area.

We then walked around the north end of Central Park.

We took a subway back to our hotel and checked out. Dave ordered up a ride to the Brooklyn cruise pier, we waited and waited and kept getting canceled from our ride share, Revel. There are so many blocked off streets and traffic congestion that they weren’t able to get to us. Finally one driver had us walk a few blocks to him. We later found out the president and Prince Harry were in town along with other dignitaries for an environmental summit. The plus to getting to cruise pier later than we usually do is that we walked right on and our room was ready. No waiting in a room with hoards of people :)

The sail away from New York was amazing, spectacular views of the city, and a beautiful sunset to top it off!

Our first evening and martini on the ship

Photos will be added after getting home. Too many issues trying to add photos from my phone :(
