February 12

What we have been up to the last week:

Dave and I took a mosaic class at the Annex Studio, same place Kitty and I took the Mandala Dot painting. Dave chose a whale and I did a heart. We learned how to cut glass and tile and the different techniques for cutting. I think Dave has found a new hobby!

Our work prior to grouting:

Our work after grouting:

After class we had a yummy dinner at Gabby's, lucked out with a partial ocean view table, a burrito for Dave, mole enchiladas for me.

Enjoyed our walk home taking in another beautiful sunset.

I love my morning walks taking in the sites, it never gets old. Today I took a couple pictures of Carolynn the art teacher from The Annex, I pass her every morning walking her 3 dogs.

We enjoyed a fun afternoon at La Huerta BBQ with Kitty and Jim listening and dancing to Sylvie and the Zippers. Dave and I walked up the river to the Restaurant.

Horses in the river:

I finally secured a place for next year at Santa Maria. It is a very simple old school Mexican apartment complex, but the grounds are beautiful and the people are friendly and the owner will let us store our stuff until we return! We were able to get into the unit and check it out. Very simple but the pros out weigh the cons! This will be our little balcony next year overlooking the pool.

We meet up with Kitty and Jim their last day for a game of triaminos followed by lunch at Abulon.

This little sweet dog who lives below our building, was a puppy last year when we stayed here, finally let me pet her this morning on our way to the beach! She is so sweet, she has let Dave pet her a couple times, I felt honored this morning!

This past week we have enjoyed beach time with our own set up, a beautiful beach front breakfast at Eldorado, many walks and runs, and a yummy dinner at Archies Wok.

Archies wok is the best when you are really craving veggies!

We also met up with our friends Wayne and Ian who we know from Villa Olivia for dinner one night at Cafe Bohemio, of course I forgot to take a picture because we were all so busy catching up. We had a very enjoyable evening with them. We were there so long a waiter brought us our check without asking, they normally wait for the guest to ask for it!

February 6

It has been over a week since my last post. I have spent way too much time trying to find a condo to rent next year. Everything is so expensive, at least ones that I find acceptable. So far I have tried to book 3 from airbnb that showed available, 2 replied they are already booked for next year, then remove those dates!!! They were both new hosts so probably why. Then another one that was open for the dates I wanted came back and said they have not set next winter's rates yet! Really! So I keep looking......

Highlights from the previous week:

Kitty and Jim joined us for a full day of adventure. We all got cabs/ubers to Boca then found a private boat to take us to Quimixto where we hiked to a waterfalls, back to Quimixto then hiked to Las Animas where we had a delicious late lunch before catching a water taxi back to Boca. It was a huge hike and a little challenging, up, down over rocks, but we made it and all stayed upright!

We celebrated Dave's Birthday a week late! Kitty and Jim came to our place and we played cards then had dinner at The Sea Horse.

One morning while on my walk I saw a huge plum of dark smoke, later found out a bus had caught fire, luckily everyone escaped unharmed.

We have had a beautiful beach day at El Dorado.

Joined Kitty and Jim for a beach day and lunch at La Playita in Conchas Chinas. A coconut fell from a tree and nearly landed on Dave! Jim worked at getting it open and we all ate some fresh coconut.

We have enjoyed many beautiful sunsets from our place as well as the Malecon.

There have been lots of amazing evening fireworks during Bear Week that we have been able to see from our balcony.

Enjoyed our after dinner walks taking in the sights.

Have been enjoying lots of walks around the town and up the river.

We have enjoyed many meals out as well as made some yummy meals at our place.

And bought a chihuahua while waiting for dinner at Bohemeo!
