Sad to be leaving especially now that Dave is finally feeling back to normal! Kind of feel like we lost a whole week of our vacation. For the last two days I really was able to relax and take in everything that we find so special about this place.
I love that we have late afternoon flights home from here. We got up and had a quick breakfast on the patio, showered then headed out for a good last walk. We started on the beach, the waves were huge.
I snapped this picture and then had to run for it! We both did not get away fast enough!
I had sand all the way up my arm and in my hair! We continued on being very careful of the waves. Snapped a couple last pictures of the beach. We then headed inland and walked up along the river where we ran into the cute little 36 day old puppy. The new owner is here for 2 months and he adopted the rescue puppy yesterday, he said he is working on the paperwork to take it back home to the states. We continued along into Old Town and past our favorite produce market, I will miss this market :(After a couple hours of walking decided we needed to get back and finish packing. We were very happy that Denise told us no one was checking into our room today so we could stay in it until it was time to go home. After we finished packing we headed to Cafe De Olla for our last lunch and my last margarita :( I am really going to miss PV margarita's they truly are the best! When we returned back to the Villa we saw another couple from last year had arrived, they were on the same floor as us last year, I think they stay for 3 months, communication is a little hard as they speak primarily French. They were happy to show us their new addition to their patio this year! Shade! They had duck taped an umbrella they purchased to the railing, brilliant! We love this floor but during the afternoon there is no shade, think we will copy them next year! We bagged up our unused groceries and gave them to one of the neighbors, told them to pass what ever they didn't want on to someone else. Said our goodbyes to some of the guests and gave Denise a big hug and a thank you bottle of wine for all she has done for us and caught the cab to the airport. Adios PV, until next year!

Day 22
I am writing this post sitting outside on our patio listening to the crashing waves as I have every night. I am feeling a bit sad that we will be leaving this beautiful place tomorrow.
I started the day with a morning run and feeling a little sad that it will be my last run for the year in PV and probably last run outside for a couple of months, I didn't have to dodge people today but had to dodge pigeons, always have to dodge the pigeons along the malecon :)
Met up with Dave later in the morning to do a little walk and finish shopping for gifts to take home for some friends, family and co workers.
Dave bought some hand painted cards at Chez Elena from a lady from Wisconsin who spends her winters here. They have named a suite after her! We ran into Sylvie while we were there, she was in the middle of her tour to the cross on the hill. She told us her band, The Zippers, is playing tonight at Captain Dons at 10:00, might be too late for us.
We decided to have a nice lunch again at Daiquari Dicks. Then we headed to Fedencious and got a front row spot on the beach :) we are trying to get in all of our favorite things in one day :) we spent a couple of hours on the beach reading, people watching, wading, swing and walking up and down the beach. We ran into Doug and his dog Chester on our way back to our place. I think we probably see them daily, Chester has the best life, goes everywhere with Doug. Yesterday I saw the security man at the wine store holding Chester on the leash while Doug was inside shopping! Picture of Chester I took today :). Doesn't he look happy!
We went for a dip in the pool then headed back to Chez Elena for a sunset cocktail.
Cute kids playing on the Man and his Donkey and Dog sculpture. Then went to Los Muertos Brewery for pizza. Our waiter tonight was from Seattle and said he has only been here for two weeks. He didn't seem very interested that we too were from Washington! Once he has been here longer I think that will change from what we have experienced :)
It has been a very nice day and now that Dave is finally better I feel sorry that we have to leave tomorrow. We still have 1/2 a day tomorrow!

Day 21
Such a great morning! Dave woke up with lots of energy and suggested a morning walk :) we had a quick breakfast of papya, pineapple. banana and yogurt and headed out.
Where we stayed a few years ago :)
A bunch of cute blondes :)
Dave trying to channel his inner child
After a 3 3/4 mile walk, stats provided by Dave's run keeper, we returned to the villa and decided to go to Bucerias for the day. We took a cab to the bus station to save time, then caught the bus to Bucerias. It is always a crap shoot as to how long it will take, today seemed especially slow. We left our place a little before 10:30 and arrived at Bucerias at 11:50. The bus made many stops today! Dave had only been here one other time and it was a nasty windy day so he did not think he liked it. I enjoyed the peacefulness of it last year when I went for the day with Laura and wanted Dave to experience it and it was a perfect day today :)
The street heading to the beach
The first view of the beach:
View of my margarita at lunch :)
Lunch views:
After lunch we walked along the long stretch of beach that appears to go all the way from Nuevo to La Cruz
I planned to buy some earrings here at the market, I like the market here for some reason and I got a good deal of course....much better deal if I buy two pairs!!!!
We took the bus back, it was much less crowded and took about 15 minutes less than it did to get there, must have been the time of day.
I went for a swim and read at the pool, I will so miss the views!!!!
Decided to stay in and grill up burgers so we could enjoy our fabulous views and use up some of our supplies.
As a side note, It has been so fun seeing the other guests who are now arriving that we met from last year! Today as I was headed to the pool there was Michell and? French Canadians who speak very little English just arrived yesterday here for 3 months. Then I went to the mini mart down the street and there was Francisis and Gordon from somewhere around Manatoba, arrived today around noon and leave in March, they told me two other couples from last year arrive tomorrow. Too bad we go home when they all are arriving! We enjoyed them all so much last year :) Dave and I commented that they all seem so young to be retired and have been coming here for many years for several months at a time! Someday! Looking forward to saying hello and goodbye to the other two couples tomorrow!

Day 20
Woke up to another beautiful clear sunny morning. We were happy to see Jenny and Chris from Manitoba arrived last night, they were our next door neighbors last year. They will be here for two months. We talked briefly with Jenny this morning before we headed off for the home tour. We have done the home tour several times, I was hoping it was going North today as in the past they went North on Tuesdays, well guess that may have been long in the past! It was going South today and they said they rarely go North, We bought our tickets and went to the French bakery down the street to get a treat before we left. Yum!
Today we saw 4 houses All of which I have never seen before :) which is unusual, usually there is a repeat, all were beautiful waterfront homes. The home tour is put on by the international friendship club and all proceeds go to charitable organizations. A couple of the homes are availabile to rent, complete with chef, gardener and housekeeper! That would really be a treat...for a nice price though :)We had one of the best days yet since Daves illness that started on the 26th, just wish Dave was feeling even better so he could enjoy his vacation more!
After the tour we had a lovely lunch at Daiquiri Dicks.
After lunch Dave went back to our place to rest and I went out to get some supplies and do a little shopping. As usual when I got back I was hot and needed to take a dip in the pool. Dave eventually joined me and we had a nice chat at up at the pool with Chris and Jenny :) Dave returned to our room but I continued to visit with another guest, George who is here with Nigel for two months and then will need to return home for at least a night in BC before they head on to Ecuador for a few months!!!! They are both retired educators, library, Alberta/Vanvouver public schools. The return trip home has something to do with Canadian trip insurance that is covered for them but get only 3 months at a time ( I might not have this completely correct)
We got dinner to go from Cafe Bohemia due to a headache setting in for poor Dave :(
